As you may have already noticed, Facebook is currently down and status updates as well as comments  and likes are not functional, while these lines are being written.

Messages, however, seem to work smoothly.

Users around the globe get error messages while trying to perform one of the aforementioned actions.

According to page DownRightNow, the most popular social network seems to face a “likely service disruption”.

No comments have been provided from Facebook’s part so far.
