THE BASIC LAWS OF HUMAN STUPIDITY | Στέφανος Μάνος

Πριν από μερικές δεκαετίες ο Carlo Cipolla, καθηγητής της οικονομικής ιστορίας στο πανεπιστήμιο του Berkeley (όπου ήταν και ο Α. Παπανδρέου) έγραψε ένα βιβλιαράκι με τίτλο "THE BASIC LAWS OF HUMAN STUPIDITY".

Οι κανόνες είναι 5. Τους αντιγράφω :

1.First Law:

Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.

2.Second Law:

The probability that a certain person be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person, as he often looks innocuous/naive, and makes you lower the guard.

3.Third Law:

A stupid person is one who causes harm to another person or group of persons while deriving no gain himself and even possibly incurring a loss.

4.Fourth Law:

Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid people.

5.Fifth Law:

The stupid person is the most dangerous type of person that exists.

Ο τρίτος κανόνας ορίζει ότι ο ηλίθιος ή βλάκας προκαλεί βλάβη ή ζημιά σε τρίτους χωρίς να αποκομίζει όφελος ή ακόμα και προκαλώντας ζημιά στον εαυτό του.

Τυπικό παράδειγμα τέτοιας βλακείας είναι ο φόρος στο πετρέλαιο θέρμανσης. Δεν είναι το μόνο παράδειγμα.
